“And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is empty and your faith comes to nothing. And we become false witnesses of God who have declared that God has raised Christ … And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile, and you are still in sin” (1 Corinthians 15: 14-15, 17).
The Resurrection of Jesus Christ is the core foundation of our faith. It is what gives our faith its meaning and its essence. The empty tomb (Matthew 28: 1-7; Mark 16: 1-8, Luke 24: 1-8; John 20: 1-10), the several appearances of Jesus to His disciples after His Resurrection – breaking the bread with them (Luke 24: 13-35), inviting them to touch and to feel Him for ghost has no flesh and bones(Luke 24: 39), eating with them (Luke 24: 43), the miracle of the fish in the Sea of Tiberias (John 21: 1-14) and His Ascension (Acts 1: 6-11) bear enormous testimony to this fact. Each of us is called and challenged therefore to witness to this fact by our life-style and in words to the ends of the earth. “To this you are witnesses” (Luke 24: 48, Acts 1: 8).
